Memorial Day: Adjusted Hours at the Help Desk & Learning Spaces  

The UFIT Help Desk and Learning Spaces will have adjusted support hours during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

All UFIT Learning Spaces (Architecture, CSE, Weil Hall, Norman Hall, and the Hub) will close at 5 p.m. Friday, May 24, and reopen Tuesday, May 28, at their respective opening times. Marston Science Library will also have adjusted hours during the holiday weekend but will be open on Memorial Day from 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.

The UFIT Help Desk will have normal business hours and support services through the weekend but will be closed with limited phone support available on Monday, May 27. Walk-in assistance will be available again on Tuesday, May 28, at 7 a.m.

Tech Support for All Gators

Whether you are in Gainesville, Lake Nona, Leesburg, The Villages®, UF Scripps Biomedical Research, UF Health-Jax, or an IFAS extension or research center, IT support is just a call or service ticket away.

The UFIT Help Desk provides 24/7 support for account resets and more. Centrally located on the Main campus in 132 Hub, the UF community can get help with VPN access, GatorLink authentication issues, applications within myUFL and ONE.UF, as well as thesis/dissertation support.

IFAS IT enables extension services and agricultural research around the state with technical experts who understand the needs and programs used by IFAS faculty and staff. IFAS IT has an excellent, resource-filled website you can peruse or click the Get Help Now! button to submit a ticket.

The UF Health IT department provides support for clinical applications, like the Epic tool. They also provide expert assistance with instructional technologies, IT Training, videoconferencing needs, SharePoint, myTraining, and for telemedicine issues.

The Scripps Help Desk offers onsite technical support for the scientists, students, and staff at UF Scripps Biomedical Research. Contact them (scrps-fltech@mail.ufl.edu) for assistance with system access issues, technical support, or to order A/V services.

Self-Help, Expert Help When You Need It

The UF Computing Help Desk website has self-help resources for students, faculty and staff, accessible from anywhere, at any time. Among the how-to pages are step-by-step instructions for connecting to eduroam and the UF VPN, setting up UF GatorMail on your phone, updating passwords on your phone, and managing your GatorLink account. For visual learners, how about putting that RTS bus time to good use by watching a video on UFIT’s YouTube channel? There are nearly 100 videos on https://www.youtube.com/GoGatorsUFIT, with more added each month.

For 24/7 assistance regarding technical services you cannot fix on your own, the Help Desk has you covered. During regular business hours, in-person and online consultations cover: VPN and wireless network connections, email services, GatorLink account issues, UF systems, e-Learning [Canvas] support, desktop application support, and thesis and dissertation formatting assistance. After hours (nights and weekends) phone support includes account management issues and general tech information.
