● Navigate the SPSS & Sample Power interface
● Create and import datasets
● Conduct exploratory data analysis
● Create different types of charts
● Transform data
● Perform inferential statistics for the mean, proportion, and categorical variables
● Carry out bivariate linear regression, correlation, and multiple linear regression
● Perform analysis of variances, analysis of covariance, and logistic regression
● Conduct Power Analysis for each statistical test

SPSS Training Offered This Spring

UFIT is offering its SPSS Statistics & Sample Power 3 this spring.  The online course begins January 9, and ends on March 10, 2023.  This free certificate earning, self-paced course includes seven modules that focus on the latest statistical procedures.  All modules must be completed by March 10 for the participant to earn the certificate.

This course has been designed for faculty, TAs, graduate students, postdoctoral candidates, and staff.  Potential participants can review the course syllabus prior to registering.

Participants must have completed a graduate course in statistics and the “SPSS Statistics Essential Training” in LinkedIn Learning prior to January 9.  To register, visit https://training.it.ufl.edu/training and use the keyword: SPSS. R Training for Data Mining and Analysis

R has become the default software for data mining and analysis. R is now as ubiquitous for data applications as Excel is in business and administrative functions. UFIT is once again offering its popular R training this summer, in a free training program from May 31 – July 29.

Learn more and register.

Participants in UFIT’s R training can apply what they learn to their research and academic activities, as Spring 2022 attendee Opeyemi Adedoja, a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Entomology and Nematology, has been able to:

“Thank you so much for providing the detailed lectures, I gained a lot from the training and have applied R in several capacities. The R course gave me practical understanding of this programming language and I am now more confident when applying the basic operations in my daily work. Also, I have always found logistic regression a very difficult analysis to compute and interpret in R. Your course gave me a clear picture of this topic and I understand it much better now.”

UFIT is also offering SPSS and Sample Power 3 this summer from May 9 – July 1. Anyone with questions about these offerings may contact UFIT trainer Dr. Jose Silva-Lugo.

Free Self-Paced Statistical Software Training

Two FREE, fully online trainings on statistics software will be offered during the fall term. Faculty, staff, postdocs, TAs, and graduate students can learn how to perform statistical analyses on research data while earning a certificate in SPSS and SamplePower 3 or the R programming language. In these self-paced trainings, participants will use the software through practical application and hands-on exercises. The training series introduces data analysis and visualization features that can help further research. Pre-registration is required. Use the links below to view the course flyer and to register:
