After an extended analysis and review of options available, PeopleSoft’s Campus Solutions has been selected to modernize UF’s 30-year old student systems. Elias Eldayrie, vice president and chief information officer (CIO), and Zina Evans, vice president for enrollment management and associate provost, will oversee the project’s planning and system transition. The planning phase is expected to take up to one year, with implementation taking place three to four years after the planning phase is complete.
The planning phase focus is on replacing outmoded technology and increasing system functionality. Results of the six-month analysis process involving students, faculty and staff found that the existing system, which includes ISIS (Integrated Student Information System), only meets 78 percent of the university’s functional needs. After the selection was confirmed by the president and provost, CIO Elias Eldayrie commented on the next phase for this significant project:
“Input from our students, faculty, and staff was a significant component of the analysis phase,” said Eldayrie. “Their continuing involvement will be crucial throughout 2014’s planning for a successful modernization of our student systems.”
Modernization plans include the e-components of admissions, enrollment, advising, and student financial services. Please watch for more communications with details on the scope, schedule, and plan for this project, and how you can be involved.
