A new log-in page for all services requiring GatorLink credentials will go live on Sunday, November 6. The new page matches the updated UF web template and brand standards that launched in spring, 2016.
“We wanted the login page that everyone uses to match the look and feel of UF’s new template,” said Brandon Vega, UFIT’s Associate Director, Systems and Programming. “Doing so reinforces the importance of adherence to the university’s standards for design.”
Upgrading the page wasn’t complicated but did require moving some links and their accompanying text to new locations. With so much attention on website spoofing and attempted malware attacks at UF, there is concern that students and faculty unaware of the change to login.ufl.edu will think the new page is fraudulent. To counteract that, UFIT linked a sample of the new page to the current login page, added an announcement to the e-Learning homepage, submitted a news story for UF’s monthly staff publication, and has a robust social media campaign planned.
Anyone with questions about the university’s updated design standard or UF branding may contact Assistant Vice President for Communications Nicole Yucht.
