Decision Day 2012 proved to be the smoothest freshman online admission decision release since UF moved to a single decision date five years ago.
Applicants could learn if they’re members of The Gator Nation 2012 freshmen class beginning at 6:00pm on Friday, February 10. Based on previous Decision Day experiences, we know that applicants start logging in hours before admissions decisions are available, causing an enormous spike in the processing load for UF systems. A great deal of planning and coordination by Computing & Networking Services, Enterprise Systems, and the UF Computing Helpdesk staff was required to prepare for the systems load capacity issues as well as the campus communications needed for such an important event.
The technical support for Decision Day 2012 was without incident. Patrick C. Herring, Director of Admissions, said, “The Office of Admissions is very grateful for the support of a terrific team of highly competent and committed IT professionals who see that our applicants and their families are well-served during their interactions with the university.”
Go Gators! Go UFIT!
