The Division of Sponsored Programs is hosting two forums in December focusing on the UFIRST system. The purpose of these forums is to identify opportunities where business processes managed within UFIRST can be improved. All faculty and staff involved in UF’s extramural proposal submission processes are welcome to attend. The open forum dates are:
Wednesday, December 7
Location and Time: Broad Building – Room 104, 10:00am to 11:30am
Monday, December 12
Location and Time: Florida Gym – Room 250, 10:30am to 12:00pm
Phase I of the University of Florida Integrated Research Support Tool or “UFIRST” went live on March 23, 2015. Phase II followed in fall 2015, with Phase III–the new awards system–going live on July 1, 2016. Phase III provided UF with electronic integration to grants.gov for federal submissions, enabling the Office of Research to retire Cayuse (its previous software for electronic grants submissions), saving the university $180,000 per year.
