Update: Based on the university’s guidance regarding the impacts of COVID-19, the Two-Factor Authentication tabling events have been cancelled. We hope to reschedule the events for a later date soon.
“Remember Me” is now available in UF’s two-factor authentication service. Using this feature can reduce the number of times you need to verify your identity throughout the day.
There is a check box on the Duo app’s log-in prompt screen that says, “Remember Me for 10 hours.” If you check the box, you will not be prompted to authenticate for…you guessed it…10 hours! This works as long as you use the same browser on the same device for 10 hours. (The Remember Me feature is browser-specific, meaning it does not “follow the user.” The checkbox must be selected on each device used to authenticate.) Remember Me is also cookie-based, so clearing the cache and cookies in your web browser will erase your Remember Me selection.
The university has mandated that all students, faculty, and staff with active GatorLink credentials enroll in multi-factor authentication this year. UFIT is holding tabling sessions across campus to help you get started. View the tabling schedule here. Enrolling in multi-factor authentication only takes a few minutes, so why not enroll before the deadline?
