UFIT presents the 2012 Information Technology Security Awareness Day on Wednesday, October 10, in the Reitz Union’s Grand Ballroom. ITSA Day is an annual, nationwide event designed to increase awareness of IT security and privacy risks.

This year’s theme is Mobile Devices and Secure Coding.

The 2012 ITSA Day agenda includes presentations and a “Capture the Flag” (CTF) competition. The CTF competition teams computer experts and programmers who attempt to attack and defend computers using software and network structures. Are you game? The CTF competition is open to students, faculty, and staff. Everyone is welcome to enter, regardless of major or technical background. There will be a lot of great prizes to win, includng iPads, software, and other geek-centric stuff.

Presenters are experts on topics like Mobile Security, OWASP Top-10, and Cyber-Security. An IT Expo will be part of ITSA Day as well. The Expo features several public and private organizations with ties to IT products.
