UF’s Information Security Office has released the 2015 Employee Guide to Information Security. The guide, updated annually, details how staff can protect their personal information as well as UF’s data and network environment.
The guide also lists the steps faculty and staff should take before purchasing computer equipment or software– regardless of whether the purchase is made through UF funds or sponsored research funds. Following the steps outlined in the guide can save time, money, and stress for faculty who want to focus on their research and not experience potential delays, due to having to replace or refine software because of legal or technical incompatibility with UF’s existing environment.
Paper copies of the 2015 Employee Guide to Information Security are available by emailing the UFIT Communications office with the number of copies you’d like sent to you via campus mail. Resources mentioned in the guide are also available on the Information Security Office website.
