GRAPHIC: HiPerGator and AI for the University of Florida

In continuation of the spring AI Retreat, UFIT is offering a 90-minute workshop on AI in Research Computing. The Zoom-enabled workshop will be held on Wednesday, August 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Speakers and topics to be covered are:

Erik Deumens: Overview of UF as the AI University. How HiPerGator AI, powered by NVIDIA, is the most advanced AI infrastructure for academic work on AI in the world.
Ying Zhang: Overview of the hardware and software resources available through Research Computing that support AI research.
Dan Maxwell: Discussion of the AI seminar series, which will be informal (non-credit) conversations about AI learning experiences at UF.
Matt Gitzendanner: Expansion of Research Computing training content. This includes collaborating with Dan Maxwell on the AI seminar series. Additional discussion on how GPU resources will be made available for instructors wishing to incorporate hands-on learning experiences into their classes. (UFIT is also interested in working with faculty to develop modules for courses, and helping faculty to add AI content to their courses.)
