Video Featuring HiPerGator Wins Prestigious Award

Doctoral Candidate Caroline Storer_Screen Capture_DELL Video

The University of Florida is front and center in an award-winning video produced by Dell. The video was created for Supercomputing ’15, the annual high-performance computing conference. Dell’s video production team won a ‘Telly’ award for this production that features UF Research Computing Director Erik Deumens and four faculty and Ph.D. candidates.

Much of the video was shot at UF in October 2015. Professor Srikar Chamala, and doctoral students Shannon O’Reilly, Caroline Storer, and Chris Neal were each filmed talking about how their research is possible through HiPerGator’s computing abilities. The video was shown continuously at SC’15, where 10-ft. banners featuring UF faculty images and quotes were also on display. (SC’15 is also where the most recent TOP500 list was announced, with HiPerGator achieving the #2 position of all supercomputers at U.S. public universities.)

The Telly Awards honor the best in local, regional, and cable TV commercials, informational videos, and short productions. More than 12,000 entries are submitted annually to a 500-member judging panel. The Tellys are known as the premier award program for advertising agencies, video production companies, television stations, and corporate video departments worldwide.
