January 12, 2012
UF Research Computing and the High-Performance Computing Center have developed a weekly training series designed for the research community. These sessions will offer opportunities to learn about using the UF HPC resources. For the spring 2012 term, some of the introductory sessions presented in fall 2011 will be repeated prior to moving into new topics.
The series begins on January 26. All sessions will be held on Thursdays from 12:00pm-1:00pm in the Cancer Genetics Research Center Building (CGRC) Room 133. There is no need to register and all sessions are free.
Attendees will need to connect to the HSC wireless network and have an HPC account to follow the presentations on their notebook computer. CGRC Room 133 is equipped with a Polycom video conferencing system, so sessions can be broadcast to additional locations, if arranged in advance. Please contact Matt Gitzendanner or Alex Moskalenko for additional information about the training sessions or to request Polycom information.
Slides and notes will be posted on the HPC Wiki (http://wiki.hpc.ufl.edu) following each session. Visit the HPC wiki for information on training dates and the tentative schedule of topics scheduled for this semester.
