Focused Training for UF’s Research Environment

UF Information Technology is offering several courses this summer to assist research faculty and lab staff maximize their high performance computing output. Among the offerings is a new course, Git and GitHub, developed due to campus request. The summer class catalog includes:

May 10:   Intro to Linux Command Line
May 24:   Git and GitHub
May 31:   Galaxy and NGS Sequence Analysis
Aug   2:   Introduction to Research Computing and HiPerGator
Aug 16:   Introduction to the Linux Command Line

“Having Git/GitHub training on campus is really valuable,” says Warrington College of Business Administration’s web application developer Adrian Gritz. “With GitHub more people at UF can collaborate and share code. This saves time and allows us to make a greater impact with our work.”
