UFIT provides several data storage options for faculty, each with unique features to meet different use cases. The self-service and managed-storage options available are described in a table on the Faculty Storage Options website. Newer storage options include ResVault and UF Dropbox for Faculty. Some factors that researchers should take into consideration when selecting a storage option include:

1.   Type of Data Being Stored (Restricted, Sensitive, Open)
2.   Volume of Data
3.   Data Access Performance (Transfer Speed)
4.   Need for Collaboration
5.   Costs
6.   Management Convenience

There are use cases listed on the Faculty Storage Options website. Unsure which service best fits your requirements? UF’s Research Computing staff can help with identifying the optimal service for your data storage needs.
