August 6, 2018
2018 marks the five-year anniversary of HiPerGator, the University of Florida supercomputer for research. To celebrate this anniversary, UFIT is sponsoring a symposium for postdocs and graduate students who use HiPerGator to conduct research.
The 2018 HiPerGator Symposium will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the UF Informatics Institute. The symposium’s purpose is to bring HiPerGator users together to showcase their research in a broad variety of disciplines, share their experience and results, and foster communication and collaboration among HiPerGator users. The program will consist of 12 ten-minute presentations in the morning and a poster session during and after lunch.
Graduate students and postdocs who use HiPerGator are encouraged to submit abstracts for consideration for poster presentations or a “lightning talk,” which consists of a 10-minute presentation. The submission deadline is August 24, 2018, with acceptance notifications going out on September 14, 2018.
The event is free, but registration is required. For more information on the event and submission process, visit https://www.rc.ufl.edu/research/events/2018-hpg-symposium/.
