While students are busy writing final papers and getting ready for graduation, UFIT is also prepping for Commencement 2016: Members of the networking and telecommunications groups are adding cables in and around the Swamp to accommodate the audio visual (A/V) requirements of UF’s outdoor graduation ceremonies.
With many Commencements temporarily transitioning out of the O’Connell Center due to renovations, the College of Journalism and Communication, Facilities, PPD, and other departments are setting up an alternative celebration space for the April 28-May 1 ceremonies at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. UFIT staff are also building a temporary A/V control panel internally, and will operate the QR-code scanning system that displays each graduate’s name on the Gator Vision board and in the video stream.
UFIT will live stream all Commencements held in the Swamp. These broadcasts will be available via the Registrar’s website. Videos of the 2016 Doctoral and Master’s, Specialist’s, and Bachelor’s degree ceremonies, as well as some of the Phillips Center ceremonies, will be uploaded to the UF Mediasite Commencement catalog.
