Updates to OneDrive @ UF, Outlook for Mac

Several new features and updates are available for UF’s cloud storage and email services:

OneDrive @ UF
Recent updates now allow students, faculty, and staff who come in contact with Personal Health Information (PHI) to access OneDrive @ UF, the cloud service providing 1TB of file storage.  However, OneDrive @ UF may not be used to store or share PHI-related information.

Outlook for Mac
The Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Education program now offers the new Outlook for Mac, which provides a modern user interface, faster mail syncing, and a more consistent Outlook experience between Macs and other devices.

Outlook App for iOS and Android
The Outlook app for iOS and Android will be blocked in UF Exchange and GatorCloud email due to UF Privacy and Security concerns. The app does not meet UF requirements because it uses an external cloud service to store UF authentication credentials and stores UF email for up to 30 days.  The service is being actively reviewed to determine if it can be enabled in the future.

More information about GatorCloud services can be found on UFIT’s GatorCloud website. Contact the UF Computing Help Desk with any questions regarding the updates.
