Southeast ICT Forum Hosted by UFIT

This week UFIT is hosting the Building Industry Consulting Service International’s (BICSI) Southeast ICT Forum at UF’s East Campus. The BICSI organization provides updates on the latest trends in information and communications technology (ICT) products and solutions.

The value for UF in hosting a BICSI event is that it allows staff to meet with industry professionals, speak to vendors about the latest products, and expand their ICT knowledge–all without leaving Gainesville. Topics at this week’s forum are relevant for today’s campus computing environment as well as for helping UFIT plan for new and innovative infrastructure in support of the University of Florida’s rise to five.

Attendees will discuss ways that telecommunication and networking technologies support the various smart city and intelligent building projects underway at UF. Along with several presentations focused on ICT best practices, attendees will tour the UF Data Center, home to HiPerGator. The Southeast ICT Forum agenda is online.
