Like to Snapchat and send selfies while cheering the Gators inside the O’Dome? You’re in luck: UFIT installed a new
Wi-Fi system there, part of the upgraded network infrastructure at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.

The O’Connell Center renovations provides fans with an enhanced guest experience, and that includes fast Wi-Fi connectivity. Whether your comfy, memory foam seats are in the upper or lower bowl, you’ll be able to live-Tweet and post photos from the game, Commencement ceremony, or concert you’re attending. UFIT installed more than 1,300 network data ports and 214 wireless access points for the project. The arena area itself is served by 140 wireless access points. These access points include specialty wireless antennas mounted on handrails to ensure patrons have coverage throughout the seating area.

The new Wi-Fi system was live for the O’Connell Center reopening on December 21, 2016, but testing and optimization will continue so UFIT can remedy any coverage issues that may arise.
