UFIT is forming a Mac Task Force. Its mandate is to identify the current gaps in terms of providing documentation and support for Mac platform users. The idea for the Mac Task Force developed based on a question posed at ‘IT@UF’, the monthly campus (distributed) IT directors and core (UFIT) leadership meeting.
“We are very interested in having full documentation for how to access UFIT solutions from multiple platforms,” said Saira Hasnain, Associate CIO and Director of Information and Technology Systems. “The Mac Task Force will help us identify areas where we’re currently lacking and how best to address those gaps.”
The task force will have its introductory meeting this fall and then meet regularly from January through June, 2017. Their recommendations will be reviewed by the university’s Shared Infrastructure Advisory Committee and UFIT’s senior leadership team. Staff from across campus who’d like to participate are welcome to inquire about joining the task force. If you can help define the current gaps and discuss the best way to manage Macs at UF, then please email CALS IT Director Wendy Williams, the task force’s chair. When emailing Wendy, explain your current position at UF and how you can contribute towards the Mac Task Force mandate.
