UFIT Video & Collaboration Services now offers a Facebook Live service, available to UF departments and organizations with a Facebook page that would like to provide high quality video and audio livestream presentations.
Facebook Live is a much-requested service because it provides a new way to engage with audiences. When a Page livestreams, all of their followers are notified that the livestream is occurring, with the video also appearing in their Facebook feed. Using Facebook Live, page owners can interact with viewers, field and respond to questions, and check out reactions to their broadcast–all in real time. Post-broadcast, the page owner can decide whether to keep it on their page so followers who missed it can watch it at a later time.
Facebook Livestreaming has the same pricing structure as UFIT’s Mediasite Livestream service. The Video & Collaboration Services group created a video comparing the two services so faculty and staff can determine which best meets their needs. If you’d like to request a Facebook Livestreaming event, fill out the Streaming Media Event option on the Service Request Form and in the notes, mention that you’d like a Facebook Livestream. Please contact Video & Collaboration Services (firstname.lastname@example.org, or 352-392-4357, option 2) if you have any questions.
