The eduroam Wi-Fi service is now available at the UF Health Science Center in Gainesville and the UF Research and Academic Center in Lake Nona.
With eduroam, faculty, students, and staff have immediate Internet access at more than 5,000 universities and research institutions worldwide. Eduroam also allows faculty and staff from participating institutions to easily connect to UF’s Wi-Fi when visiting the university’s Gainesville and Lake Nona locations–without having to go through the administrative process to obtain UF credentials. Since the service went live in early March, eduroam members from institutions located in Germany, Slovakia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and Japan have successfully used the service while visiting UF.
For the best connectivity experience, prepare your device before leaving Gainesville: simply choose ‘eduroam’ from the list of Wi-Fi options, log-in with your GatorLink credentials, and then save the log-in credentials so the device is ready to connect upon arrival. Contact the UF Computing Help Desk for assistance, or review information on using the eduroam service available on their Wiki page.
