April 10, 2017
Attention, UF Dropbox for Education users! Dropbox is changing their look-and-feel and adding new options in April. The redesign includes:
Simplified and streamlined navigation
The new layout is clearer, more consistent, and faster to navigate. The changes make it easier to share files, leave real-time feedback, and see changes without the back-and-forth of email.
Contextual action menus
Dropbox has redone the action menu to present only the relevant next steps for the user. This makes it easier to become a Dropbox pro without in-depth training.
More powerful search
The search feature has been improved to provide results across all content in a user’s files and Dropbox Paper docs, so users can quickly find what they need.
Clear account separation
The process to switch between work and personal Dropbox accounts has been simplified so users can keep files where they want them.
No more distractions
Users will now only see notifications for the account they’re in, so no more notifications about personal files popping up during a business meeting.
Dropbox users will automatically be moved to the new design once the April changes go live. UF faculty and staff can get a free Dropbox for Education account and access their Dropbox account by visiting www.it.ufl.edu/gatorcloud. The UF Computing Help Desk staff are available to answer Dropbox-related questions via phone or email and during walk-in hours.
