November 10, 2013
Starting Tuesday, November 12, a new cloud-based email service will be available as a replacement for Webmail, UF’s student email service. The new email service provides expanded mailbox storage, integrated calendaring, and access to UF’s global email address list. Other features coming soon include SkyDrive Cloud storage, Lync videoconferencing and messaging, file-sharing through SharePoint, and browser-based versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote.
Switching to the Cloud is easy – starting this Tuesday, students can sign up to have their email migrated over to the O365 student cloud service. Contents of a student’s Webmail mailbox will be copied over to their new cloud mailbox. Making the transition to the new email service is optional through spring 2014. However. during summer 2014 UF’s Webmail service will be retired and all students will be moved to student cloud email.
For more information on how to make the switch to the cloud, visit the Student Cloud Services website. Have additional questions? Email, stop by (132 HUB), or call the UF Computing Help Desk at (352) 392-HELP .
