On April 6, Vice President & CIO Elias Eldayrie announced the appointment of Saira Hasnain as Associate CIO and Senior Director of Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations. Ms. Hasnain joins UF from the University of Buffalo where she is the Associate CIO, overseeing the architecture for enterprise applications and infrastructure, networking, and telecommunication. Ms. Hasnain’s start-date at UF is June 1, 2016.
“Saira brings a wealth of knowledge to UF, with more than 30 years of IT experience in higher education and the health care environment,” Eldayrie said when announcing her hiring. “Her successful leadership managing a dynamic enterprise infrastructure at a Research-1 university is just one of the factors that led to the Search Committee’s recommendation of Saira.”
Ms. Hasnain will oversee the technology infrastructure that UF’s information technology applications and communications are reliant upon. She’ll also be responsible for the operation and performance of multiple data centers, servers, telecommunications systems, networks, and other technology platforms. Saira’s direct reports will include the staff of two UFIT units (Network Services and Enterprise Infrastructure Services). Currently in the dissertation proposal phase for her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration, Saira holds an MBA from the University of Buffalo and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Karachi.
