A search attracting a national pool of extremely qualified candidates concluded with the hiring of
Matt Howell named as UFIT’s Associate Director of Academic Technology – Service Desk. Howell joins Gator Nation from Elon University in North Carolina, where he served as the Assistant Director of Campus Technology Support. Prior to joining Elon, Howell was a part of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s service desk and client support team for 16 years.
“The ‘top-10’ public university experience Mr. Howell brings with him will elevate the IT environment for our faculty, students, and staff,” says Mark McCallister, UFIT’s Director of Academic Technology.
Matt Howell’s start date was October 19. His focus is overseeing client support at the
UF Computing Help Desk, and refining and expanding UF’s IT service desk. Howell is eager to connect with staff and develop IT service delivery solutions:
