Full contract details are on Software Licensing Services’ SAS webpage.

Funded research. Examples include work for an NSF or NIH grant, or an NSF fellowship.
Administrative work. Examples include using SAS to analyze the financial transactions of university departments, analyzing student data to track student success, or to optimize classroom reservations.
NEW LICENSE COSTS:
Teaching and unfunded research licenses are $135 per workstation and $810 per server. Funded research and administrative licenses are $200 per workstation and $4,000 per server. SAS (teaching and unfunded research licenses) for faculty and staff use on personally-owned computers are $135. Students can access SAS through UFApps and acquire SAS software through the SAS Student Home Use Program for $35.
