Heavy rains didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for the annual State of UFIT! Held on Thursday, May 15, in Emerson Alumni Hall, 264 attendees enjoyed the camaraderie, catered barbecue, and program at UFIT’s spring event.
Vice President & CIO Elias Eldayrie welcomed the largest State of UFIT crowd thus far in his four years with The Gator Nation. Eldayrie’s presentation focused on the work UFIT is doing in support of the university’s goal of achieving Top-10 status. He also spoke about current projects and projects on the near horizon, showed infographics demonstrating the explosive growth in services, and shared a glimpse of what UFIT will look like in 2020. The full video stream and PowerPoint of the 2014 State of UFIT is available online.
New UF Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Charlie Lane (pictured) also spoke at the State of UFIT. Lane’s remarks focused on his initial impressions and campus perspective of the work and services provided by UFIT, as well as the transition from the University of Southern California to UF.
