Video Resources for Incoming Gators

Students can access several UFIT videos showcasing tech resources on UFIT’s YouTube channel and the UF Computing Help Desk’s Self-Help tab. The videos, often written and produced by students who work for UFIT, are developed for a student’s perspective and needs. Below are four of our most popular videos you should watch to prepare for your first semester:

  • Before purchasing an expensive app required for class, watch the UFApps video. UFApps provides 180 apps to undergraduates for FREE on any computing device – all you need is an active GatorLink account and an internet connection.
  • UFIT underwrites the cost of LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) for UF students, faculty, and staff. Our introduction to LinkedIn Learning video dives into the 13,000+ courses available online, shows you how to add completed courses to your LinkedIn profile, and how to set up your FREE account with your GatorLink credentials.
  • Unfortunately, students are frequently targeted by cyber criminals and often receive phishing emails in their UF inbox. Our Recognizing Phishing Emails video shows you how to check if it’s a real or malicious email.
  • Whether your classes are in-person, online, or hybrid, our #UF24 – Preparing for Online Academic Life video lists all of the tech resources you’ll need to thrive at UF.

We hope these video resources help you prepare for campus life and #GoGators!
