Using Canvas Data to Improve Learning

Canvas Analytics Workshop_Oct 2015

On Thursday, October 22 (and scheduled three additional times in November), UFIT is hosting a workshop developed to assist instructors utilize the analytics tools available in Canvas. This one-hour workshop will provide in-depth coverage of Canvas’ Analytics and Quiz Statistics–tools that help identify struggling students, enhance quiz and test content assessment reliability and validity, and improve student learning.

Participants will learn how to interpret various activity graphs and evaluate quizzes and quiz questions for effectiveness; while also learning some best practices for monitoring student progress and intervening with struggling students. Attendees will be able to access an analytics site in Canvas so they can participate in a class activity. The site will be available to participants post-workshop, so attendees can have on-going access to course content and additional information as it becomes available. Attendees will also hear about the Learning Analytics Project now getting underway at UF and its potential to improve student learning outcomes.
