Once again, UF ranks #1 for Lynda.com usage by universities with a campus site license. In 2017, the UF community watched 607,269 training videos. Most surprising was how many unique courses were viewed: Of the 6,140 courses available on Lynda last year, UF accessed 5,234 of them…or 85% of their total library! UFIT underwrites the campus-wide Lynda.com license, making the service free to all faculty, students, and staff with a valid GatorLink account. (A standard Lynda membership is $30/month.) In 2017, the five most popular Lynda courses at UF were:
● Excel 2016 Essential Training (10,648 Views)
● Office 365 for Mac: Excel Essential Training (9,176 Views)
● Office 365 for Mac: Word Essential Training (8,917 Views)
● Programming Foundations: Fundamentals (8,779 Views)
● Mobile Marketing: Creating a Strategy (7,927 Views)
Online training is EASY with Lynda.com. Courses are “chunked” into short (one- to five-minute) videos that explain a specific concept or skill. No need to sit through a two-hour Excel lesson when all you need to learn is how to utilize the pivot table function! To log in free, visit https://training.it.ufl.edu/, scroll midway down the page, and click on the lynda logo. Valid GatorLink credentials get you access to the complete Lynda.com library. Anyone needing assistance using Lynda may contact the UF Computing Help Desk.
