Grad students and Ph.D. candidates who need assistance with formatting their thesis or dissertation can get expert support at the UF Computing Help Desk. The electronic thesis and dissertation (ETD) service is part of UFIT’s Application Support Center, whose mandate is to help students prepare their thesis or dissertation for submission to UF’s Graduate School Editorial Office.

“My expectations are constantly exceeded by the ASC staff,” wrote Andrew Tomiczek, a research assistant in the department of civil and coastal engineering. “They were extremely helpful and polite and thoroughly reviewed my thesis.”

ETD staff maintain templates in Microsoft Word and LaTeX. Support options include templates for proposals and templates for documents requiring a table of contents, list of figures, and/or list of tables. Walk-in support is available in 132 Hub, and 1-on-1 appointments can be arranged by emailing or calling 352-392-HELP/4357.
