UF Information Technology offers students several free tech services along with deep discounts on software. If you’re graduating from The Gator Nation this semester, add these items to your final UF to-do list:
Support from the UF Computing Help Desk
It’s time to work out any laptop or smartphone bugs. Help Desk consultants offer free walk-in appointments for email, wireless network connection issues, or virus support. (For more complex issues, you may drop off your laptop for a small fee.)
Explore software discounts available to students before paying top dollar later. UFIT provides students with 60 to 80 percent savings on Adobe, Microsoft, and statistical software.
Lynda Online Training
UFIT provides lynda.com free of charge. Where is your degree taking you? Impress your future boss by taking a course in Excel, PowerPoint, or Search Engine Optimization. Score a job or grad school admission with tutorials on cover letter development or on thesis support.
Apple Service Center @ UF
UF’s Business Services Division provides an Apple Tech Hub in JWRU. Certified Mac technicians will diagnose software and hardware problems for free. They also perform under-warranty repairs and provide competitive rates for other problems.
