The 2017 funding cycle is open for Technology Fee grants. “Tech Fee” funding is available for projects that will enhance the technology used in UF’s instructional environment.
Anyone with an idea that fits the Tech Fee guidelines is encouraged to submit a proposal. Some recently funded projects include the short-term tablet rentals in the Libraries and the funding of a second MADE@UF lab in Infinity Hall. A proposed idea, in the form of a concept paper, must be discussed with and approved by a UFIT unit director. The deadline for the initial discussion and signature is Feb. 3, 2017.
Submission deadline for concept papers is Feb. 10, 2017. Finalists will then be invited to submit full proposals in April. After reviewing the proposals, the Technology Fee Advisory Committee’s funding recommendations will go to Vice President and CIO Elias Eldayrie for consideration. Projects selected for funding will be announced prior to the end of the spring 2017 term.
