UFIT’s Software Licensing Services group manages software licenses for campus departmental computers. Software license orders can easily be placed through their website.
In addition to official university business use, UFIT also has faculty and staff home-use licenses on many popular product suites. Several software suites are available at a substantial discount compared to retail (big box and online) outlets. Some of the options UF employees can purchase include Adobe, ArcGIS, RedHat, and SAS. The full list of software available for faculty and staff home-use is posted here. Any student with an on-campus job, such as a teaching assistant, research assistant, or any position in a University of Florida academic or administrative office, qualify for both employee and student licensing. Home-use licenses are available at the UF Computing Help Desk, 132 Hub.
For more information about campus-wide licenses or to ask questions about the purchasing process, please contact the Software Licensing Services group at (352) 392-7638 or via email, firstname.lastname@example.org. Information is also available in person in 222 Hub. Walk-in hours are Monday thru Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
