April 30, 2014
April 30, 2014: The new Microsoft Student Advantage Program is officially “live” for University of Florida students! Because of the campus-wide (“enterprise license”) agreement with Microsoft, enrolled students can download and install Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus desktop applications on multiple devices at no cost.
The Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus desktop applications option is available to all enrolled students, including faculty, staff, and employees enrolled in a UF course.
Students can enroll by clicking on the Microsoft Office for Students page found on UFIT’s GatorCloud website. Each user subscription license allows a student to run Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for PC or Mac on up to five devices, in addition to five iPads. Students can also install Office Mobile on an unlimited number of iPhone, Android, and Windows Phones.
What Do You Get?
Office 365 ProPlus 2013 for PC includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Lync, and InfoPath.
Office 365 ProPlus for Mac 2011 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, and Lync.
The new agreement with Microsoft replaces older contractual agreements, including the Kivuto “On the Hub” program, which is no longer offered by Microsoft. The new program expands the software tools available and the number of devices that Microsoft software can be downloaded to. However, upgrades to the operating system are not part of the new program. Contact the UF Computing Help Desk for more information or for help with the transition from On the Hub to Microsoft Student Advantage.
