GATORSAFE, the new mobile safety app deployed by the UF Public Safety Department, the Dean of Students Office, and UF Student Government, provides information and easy access to emergency resources for the UF community. The new app replaced TapShield on December 1, 2015.
With GATORSAFE, students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors are immediately connected to UF Public Safety for emergency services. The app allows you to call, text, and send pictures and video to police about suspicious activity via the “Emergency Contacts” button. GATORSAFE also includes:
- Contact information for emergencies both on and off campus
- Alcohol poisoning and safety information
- A crime map that shows incidents occurring on and around campus
- Links to transportation websites, including SNAP, RTS, Uber, and Gator Lift
GATORSAFE was developed for UF by AppArmor. Anyone can download the FREE GATORSAFE app from the iTunes or Google Play stores. Comments or suggestions for improving the GATORSAFE app? Email them to UPD’s Ed Posey, and don’t forget to follow UPD on Twitter and Facebook.
