The Help Desk averaged more than 8,100+ support requests each month in FY20, and student staff plays a major role in solving issues for fellow students, faculty, and staff. Whether working from local apartments or away from Gainesville, students help resolve technical issues over the phone or in the Hub. After three years with the Help Desk, Gabi Bitar, a student supervisor and environmental science major, graduated in spring 2020. Ms. Bitar had this to say about working shifts after leaving Gainesville this spring:
“Although assisting clients over the phone is a part of our job responsibilities, working remotely the past several months has required us to critically think more than ever on the phones and help those seeking assistance from all around the world,” Gabi said. “It was really wonderful to see my co-workers do their best to ensure they can work remotely and come up with creative solutions to complex scenarios together.”
