IT’s Value: The Faculty, Student, and Staff Perspective

CR 2016 UFIT Highlights Cover Image

The 2015-2016 UFIT Highlights publication presents the value of IT services from the point of view of faculty, students, and staff. This publication (a precursor to the annual UFIT report known as the Contributions Report) is now online.

UFIT is dedicated to providing top-tier technology services that enable UF to serve its mission of teaching, research and scholarship, and service. Unlike the Contributions Report which is organized by governance area, the 2015-2016 UFIT Highlights publication is laid out around photos and quotes from Chemistry Professor Coray Colina, Applied Physiology and Kinesiology major Jensen Lawrence, and Assistant University Librarian Melody Royster. They established what enterprise IT services were vital to them and by extension, their community. For example, Professor Colina shared how she uses HiPerGator for her research. Colina’s quote is accompanied by some advancements made this year impacting research faculty, like the creation of an ultra-secure research ecosystem allowing for worldwide collaboration and the upgrade to UF’s network authentication platform, which provides for seamless connections to wireless and VPN systems.

UFIT’s 2015-2016 Contributions Report will be released in August. Questions or comments about the Highlights publication may be emailed or Tweeted (@Eldayrie) to Vice President & CIO Elias Eldayrie.
