April 21, 2015
The Office of Faculty Development and Teaching Excellence is hosting Interface 2015, an annual event focused on teaching, learning, and technology. Interface 2015 will be held on Thursday, April 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Straughn IFAS Extension Professional Development Center.
The theme of this year’s Interface is “Critical Reflection in Action”. Presentation topics include: weaving critical thinking into any field of study, encouraging sustainable growth and improvement through reflection, and considering how assessment can reinforce the value of the reflective process and encourage application of critical reflection.
Harvard University scientist and professor Dr. Eric Mazur will share his findings about active learning strategies. Interface participants are encouraged to view Dr. Mazur’s presentation at UF earlier this spring, “Confessions of a Converted Lecturer,” prior to the event.
Instructors can register through UF’s myTraining website. Event participants will be entered into a drawing for one of two Apple iPad Minis (must be present to win). For more information about Interface 2015, please contact Jennifer Smith, Director of the Office of Faculty Development and Teaching Excellence.
