Incorporating UFApps into Your Course

UFApps provides students and faculty with free access to more than 80 software applications anytime, on any device, from any Internet-enabled location. Instructors wanting to use UFApps can now get one-on-one assistance integrating the service into their course.

Instructors whose courses require access to software like ArcGIS, SPSS, and many other applications can use UFApps in class or for homework assignments. To ensure enough application licenses are available for a course section, instructors are encouraged to click on the Course Usage tab and submit information prior to, or near the beginning of, a new term. UFIT offers instructors one-on-one consultations to ensure an efficient experience teaching with UFApps. During the consultation, staff will provide standard phrasing to include in syllabi, explain how UFApps works, and provide answers to students’ common questions about using the service. UFIT staff can also create a location for faculty to store data sets or common files that students need for their course.

Anyone wanting to schedule a one-on-one meeting with UFApps staff can do so by clicking on the Course Usage tab. Requests to add a software application to UFApps can also be made using this tab.
