The most common reasons to visit the UF Computing Help Desk are for GatorLink help and laptop diagnostics, but other services could be just what you need:
1. Laptop Drop-off
For those with demanding schedules, the laptop drop-off service is recommended for operating system reformats, malware removal, and data recovery. Call (352) 392-HELP to learn what to bring when dropping off your computer. After a short consultation you can leave your laptop for service. Your laptop will be ready for pickup within 24 to 48 hours.
2. Poster Printing
The Help Desk is one of the few academic labs that offers glossy printing. Poster printing is available for students, faculty, and staff. Faculty and staff may have the charges billed to their department. Bring the file you wish to print on a USB drive, in either a PowerPoint or PDF format.
3. Application Support Center
Students preparing a thesis or dissertation can visit the Application Support Center (ASC) in 224 HUB for electronic thesis and dissertation technical assistance. Visit the ASC to schedule an appointment or to learn about available online tutorials and upcoming seminars.
Check the recently relaunched Help Desk Web site for a complete list of services, as well as hours of operation.
