After the August 2019 open houses elicited strong feedback from participants, the Center for Instructional Technology and Training (CITT) decided to make them a monthly event.
“The instructors were solution-oriented and patient with my questions,” emailed Marianne Vernetson, associate director and lecturer with the Bob Graham Center for Public Service, about her experience at the CITT’s August open house. “The staff made every effort to start my time as a UF lecturer easier, not harder! With their help I was able to merge four sections into one so I didn’t have to update multiple times. And since I inherited this course, they imported the most recent fall semester version so I could alter dates/assignments more easily. It was incredibly efficient and useful!”
Short presentations on the day’s topic will be delivered at the top of every hour, with instructional designers, e-Learning Support staff, and video production staff available for one-on-one consultations. The new CITT video production studios will also be available to tour. The open house events will take place in Hub 221 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Dates and topics for the fall term are:
• Sep. 27: Quizzes in Canvas e-Learning
• Oct. 15: Groups in Canvas e-Learning
• Nov. 20: Gradebook in Canvas e-Learning
• Dec. 17: Preparing for Spring Courses in Canvas e-Learning
Anyone with questions about the CITT’s services and support may contact Assistant Director Shannon Dunn.
