Instructors have the opportunity to work with course design, educational technology, web, and academic media production experts year-round in UFIT’s Center for Instructional Technology and Training (CITT). Most projects are centrally funded and therefore free of charge to the instructor and their department. Working with UFIT’s instructional designers and technologists is a time commitment but incredibly beneficial. Recently Ruogu Fang, assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, wrote her appreciation of what she learned:
“Both the undergraduate and graduate courses went really well in 2020 (4.83 and 4.92 for instructor score), and the students showed so much appreciation to my teaching, which I want to share with you my happiness and thanks to your help! I feel you personally influenced my teaching improvement, above any teaching training or courses I took. The way you answer my seemingly silly questions… taught me how to be patient and make students feel comfortable to ask questions.”
CITT staff can present at your next department or college meeting and share how the instructional design process works, discuss trainings available, and provide links to many workshops and online resources. Please reach out to the CITT to schedule a presentation or a consultation.
