The UF Computing Help Desk offers Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) technical support through its Applications Support Center, located on the second floor of the Hub.
The Applications Support Center provides help for graduate students preparing to submit their thesis or dissertation to UF’s Graduate Editorial Office format reviews. The most important part of this service is providing and maintaining templates for this process in MS Word and LaTeX.
“We find that students that start using the template in the proposal stage rarely need assistance when it is time for submission to the Editorial Office,” Help Desk representative Ken Booth said. “When I started, most students would attend our format training seminars the same semester they were planning to graduate, leaving them just a few weeks to complete the process.”
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation support options include templates for proposals, templates for documents requiring a table of contents, list of figures, and/or list of tables, one-on-one consultations, and template workshops and training seminars. Graduate students are encouraged to become familiar with thesis and dissertation templates as soon as possible. Walk-in consultations are available in Hub 224. One-on-one appointments are arranged by emailing ETD Technical Support or calling 352-392-HELP .
