Designing Accessible Online Environments

LOGO: University of Florida Accessible Online Environments

UFIT’s Center for Instructional Technology and Training (CITT) is offering two free online accessibility trainings to help faculty, staff, TAs, and graduate assistants adapt their online materials. Both courses have been recently updated to provide an introduction to online inclusivity and best practices for developing content that is accessible to all students and users. Trainings are available in both self-paced and facilitated online formats.

Accessible Online Environments is a two-week, facilitated online workshop that introduces best practices for creating accessible instructional resources. Participants will create hands-on activities to reinforce concepts and earn the Accessible Online Environments digital badge upon successful completion. This workshop also counts toward two of UFIT’s certificate of completion programs: Best Practices for Teaching Online and Teaching for Inclusivity and Accessibility. Register for the next offering.

The self-paced training, Accessibility Fundamentals, is available to start and revisit as needed. Please note: The self-paced offering does not count toward any certificate program. Registration opens on June 8, 2020.

Anyone who would like more information on these trainings or other courses offered by the CITT may contact Assistant Director Shannon Dunn.
