Gone are the days of setting up camp in the library for a study session only to realize you’ve forgotten your laptop, phone, or tablet charger. Last spring, UF Student Government approved the purchase of several Energizer XP18000 rechargeable power packs for Marston Science Library.
Energizer XP18000 power packs are compatible with most Smartphones, laptops, Netbooks, and tablets (with the exception of MacBooks), and can charge up to three devices at once. Students may check out the chargers for up to two hours with a valid Gator1 card. An overdue fee of $10 is applied per hour that the charger is turned in late, and the replacement cost is $100 if a charger is lost.
“Students deserve to have sufficient power sources of their devices while studying in Marston Library,” said Allocations Committee Chairman Elliot Grasso, according to SG’s blog. “The rechargeable battery packs assist students in achieving academic success by enabling them to have access to fully charged devices while studying.”
A complete list of tools available for student checkout is on Marston’s Computers & Equipment page. If you have any questions, contact their reference desk at (352) 273-2856 or chat with a UF librarian.
