More than 4,400 student interactions were tracked by participants at the 2015 Tech Fair, an increase of 450% over last year’s inaugural event!
Tech Fair, co-sponsored by the libraries and UFIT, is the annual fall semester event created so students can learn about IT-based services available to them at UF. This year’s participants were: Cloud Collaboration Services, DHNet (Student Affairs IT), Gator Innovators, the George A. Smathers Libraries, Infinity Fab Lab, lynda.com, MADE@UF, Office of Sustainability, Student Government, UF Apple Service Center, UF Bookstore, UF Computing Help Desk, Information Security Office, UFApps, and UFIT Learning Spaces. Attendees heard about new and upgraded services (most services featured at Tech Fair are free) and left Tech Plaza with some great SWAG from participating service groups. Students could even support the Gainesville community just by indulging their sweet tooth–UFIT hosted a bake sale during Tech Fair, with all proceeds going to UF’s Campaign for Charities.
Congratulations to the 2015 raffle prize winners: Freshmen Andrea Murciano (pictured) won the coveted Apple Watch SPORT and Priyanka Raichoudhury won the equally awesome GoPro HERO. Thanks to all of the participants, students who attended, and the 2015 Tech Fair Planning Committee for making this year’s event such a success. #UFDoesIT
