The Summer-Fall “How Can We Help You?” brochure is now available online and at the UF Computing Help Desk (132 Hub). The brochure is a helpful guide for new and returning students who want to learn more about available IT resources, including:
• Laptop — the Help Desk offers operating system reformats, data recovery, and virus removal
• Printing — black and white, color, large-print poster, and mobile printing available
• Application Support — consulting help includes thesis formatting, poster design, and using formulas in Excel
• Discounted Software — Software available at rates 60-80% lower than retail prices
In addition to selling discounted software like IBM-SPSS and SAS, UFIT offers a variety of online and in-person software training, including free 24/7 access to lynda.com. The 2014 “How Can We Help You?” brochure also has information on UFApps, the online lab offering 24/7 access to 30+ software programs, and what’s in the Gator Cloud for students.
